Kingston University London at TWI Innovation Network
TWI Innovation Network welcomed Kingston University London, to TWI’s HQ near Cambridge, for the first time. The visit on 20 March 2018 marked an opportunity to make introductions between the two organisations and for Kingston University to explore the TWI site and appreciate the engineering facilities and the Innovation Centres on site. The TWI innovation centre model was presented in detail and discussions were held with Juliet Parry and Jan Broadbent as Directors from the Research and Innovation Support Office of Kingston University London in light of the industrial context TWI provides for its University partnerships, creating an industrial pull for the academic research, which leads to more impact for research and development in terms of output and industrial applications. A comprehensive site tour afforded an insight into the engineering capabilities and innovations that are provided to Industrial Members through Accelerated Innovation Programmes (AIPs) of the TWI Innovation Network; enabling the membership base of TWI to benefit from several collaborative R&D initiatives.
