Mining Memorabilia at the IOM3
TWI Innovation Network attended the 2nd day of the Geometallurgy 2018 conference held in London over 19-20 April at the IOM3 HQ.
The event brought together a number of mining project groups including academia (e.g. Camborne School of Mines in Exeter), suppliers and firms from within the UK (particularly Cornwall region with a heritage in mining), as well as global companies that have been investigating internationally for areas of large deposits (e.g. Tungsten) and mapping processes for extraction and refinement.
Technologies from the TWI Innovation Centres with reference to mining (e.g. CleanMine) were discussed as well as developments in the network for potential engagement through the Accelerated Innovation Programme (AIP) for companies and Innovation Centres for universities such as the University of Exeter that have recently visited TWI, Cambridge.
