The new Innovation Centre dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence (AI): essex.ai has now officially opened. TWI Innovation Network was delighted to welcome Robert Singh, Acting Director of Research and Enterprise Office and Leila Musavian, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor Research, of the University of Essex to TWI's Cambridge headquarters for the launch event. Representatives from TWI, led by Tat-Hean Gan, Director of Innovation and Skills, together with collaborating partner representatives Leila and Robert, celebrated signing off the Agreement between the two parties.
The new Innovation Centre is being led by Panagiotis (Panos) Chatzakos of TWI who is an acknowledged expert in AI. Panos explains:
“essex.ai will develop data science acumen that spans different industries to help people and machines perform better, smarter, faster and safer. We will aim to capitalise on today's influx of industrial data, abundant sensors, unprecedented connectivity and cheaper computing costs to shape the future of business and industry with actionable insights.”
