We are pleased to announce that we have adapted the format of the NSIRC annual conference and will be bringing it to you virtually instead this year! NSIRC 2020 Live will be broadcast from an online platform on Thursday 23 July 2020, including presentations and Q&A by students, and three keynote speakers.
NSIRC is an international, postgraduate education and research centre for structural integrity established in 2012 to train over 500 postgraduate qualified engineers and employ 61 professionals in its first ten years. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 situation worldwide, our students are currently continuing their studies remotely.
Unfortunately the TWI Innovation Network Annual Conference scheduled for 3 June 2020 has been postponed until further notice. However, we are looking at the possibility of combining this event with the annual Innovation Summit, due to take place later this year, date to be advised.
Meanwhile, here is a taster of what to expect from NSIRC 2020 live. As well as over 30 PhD research presentations by NSIRC students, and the annual student poster competition which we invite you to participate in by casting your vote, there will also be presentations by three keynote speakers:
- Professor Andrew Curran, Chief Scientific Adviser, Director of Research and Head of GSE Profession at HSE Science and Research Centre
- Dr Jeremy Silver, Chief Executive Officer, Digital Catapult
- Professor Mark Gillan, Chief Technology Officer, Innovate UK
